I have looked up the meaning of my name before, especially after one of my primary school teachers told me.

Joshua means the lord is my salvation. It derived from the Hebrew name Yehoshua.

I must admit, when I was a child I wanted to change my name. I didn’t know any adults named Joshua and I was going to change it when I got older to John. John was my father’s name and I wanted to be called Johnny because Johnny Cage was my favourite Mortal Kombat character.

Joshua was once a popular name. In the year 2000 over 41 million babies were named Joshua, last year there were only 3,589. So it has dropped off a bit, hopefully it becomes popular again.

That was a nice short post to end the weekend, have a great rest of the day or night wherever in the world you are.
