UFC 133 Predictions – Main Card

On saturday the 6th of August two former Light-Heavyweight champions collide for the second time in at UFC 133 Evans vs Ortiz. Also on the card another former Light-Heavyweight champion looks to get back into title contention in the Middleweight division as Vitor Belfort takes on the always dangerous and entertaining Yoshihiro Akiyama and Aussie based American Brian Ebersole takes on veteran Dennis Hallman.

Rory Macdonald vs Mike Pyle

This is an excellent chance for the young gun Macdonald because Pyle is a big scalp for him to take, but it won’t be an easy task. Pyle is a wily tough veteran and he will want bully the younger fighter in Macdonald, if Macdonald doesn’t get overawed and stick to his game plan he can definitely win. Pyle is really coming into his own and a win here will push him closer up line to the title, he really seems like a complete fighter and he take the fact that a veteran like Carlos Condit was able to make Macdonald fold in the last moments of their and maybe he can too. I’m taking Pyle by unanimous decision he is just in the best form of his career at the moment.

Jorge Rivera vs Contantinous Philippou

I was really looking forward to Rivera and Sakara but I guess that it might never take place. Philippou has a good chance here being on the main card but a poor showing could see him at 0-2 in the UFC and cost him his job. Jorge has always been close to breaking through to the upper echelon of the division but always seems fall at the last hurdle and a win here will only enhance his gate-keeper status but you never know what could happen in this sport. I see nothing but a win for Rivera her he will just be too strong. Rivera by KO.

Dennis Hallman vs Brian Ebersole

This should be an entertaining fight and I am looking forward to seeing an Ebersole cart-wheel kick. Both men have wrestling backgrounds but Hallman impressed in his last fight with a TKO over one time Welterweight standout in Karo Parisyan but Ebersole has never been KO in his career. I believe that Ebersole will get the win he has finally made it to the big show after being a journeymen and he won’t want to give it up. Ebersole by unanimous decision.

Vitor Belfort vs Yoshihiro Akiyama

As entertaining as Akiyama is this could be his last chance and against ‘The Phenom’ I don’t really like his chances. Like I and others always anything can happen in this sport so Akiyama could pull out a victory and Belfort has shown to be human when fighters have a good game plan. I am sorry to Akiyama fans but I see nothing but a Belfort victory. Belfort by TKO.

Rashad Evans vs Tito Ortiz

I admire Tito a lot for stepping up and taking this fight after competing not long ago but unfortunately I see Rashad racking another win against a legend. Tito showed in against Bader that there is plenty of fight left in him but Rashad is a lot better now then the last time they fought. It was good to see Tito rack his first win since 2006 but like I said earlier I see a win  for Rashad by unanimous decision.

I hope that everyone enjoys UFC 133 and that your favourite fighter wins, to the fighters I hope that you come through injury free. Also Australian viewers who do not have pay tv you guys can see two prelim fights on One HD and until next time take care.
