In the co-main event, rivals Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno meet for the fourth time in their careers to decide the undisputed Flyweight Championship.

Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua will have his last fight in the Octagon, calling time on a legendary career that has won him titles in Japan and America.

UFC 283 Main Card Preview

Glover Teixeira vs Jamahal “Sweet Dreams” Hall

After the debacle at UFC 282, a champion WILL be crowned this time. Teixeira gets the opportunity he deserves. Can he once again claim the championship? He has been to the top of the mountain before; he can certainly do it again. He will have to be on his A-game; his opponent will be coming to knock him out.

Hill is the first fighter from Dana White’s Contender Series to be fighting for a title. The only career loss for Hill came at the hands of submission specialist Paul Craig. He has all the tools to be a champion, but he may want to stay clear of Teixeira’s ground game. However, training with Middleweight Champion Alex Pereira may have sharpened Teixeira’s stand-up.

This should be a good fight.

Odds on Neds:  Jamahal Hill $1.70 Glover Teixeira $2.15

Deiveson ‘Daico’ Figueiredo vs Brandon ‘The Assasin Baby’ Moreno

These guys would almost be sick of each other, but they keep popping up to fight the other. Both fights have one win each and a draw. Will this be the deciding match? Tomorrow will tell.

Both men are equally matched, and it will be who slips up first, losing the fight. However, anything can happen, especially when two of the best Flyweight fighters enter the Octagon.

Blink, and you may miss it.

Odds on Neds: Brandon Moreno $1.78 Deiveson Figueiredo $2.05

Gilbert ‘Durinho’ Burns vs Neil ‘The Haitian Sensation’ Magny

Burns is looking to get back in the title picture, and while a win over Magny won’t give him an immediate shot, it will undoubtedly help. He has challenged for the title before and knows what it takes to get there. Burns is just as hungry as ever. There is also a new Champion in the division, and a few wins may see him fighting for that belt again.

A win here for Magny will be huge. He seems like one of those talented journeyman fighters who can’t get to that next level. Magny has slick submission skills and knows how to win a fight, but he hasn’t done it against top-flight competition. Burns could be the first.

Odds on Neds: Gilbert Burns $1.20 Neil Magny $4.50

Jessica ‘Bate Estaca’ Andrade vs Lauren ‘Lucky’ Murphy

Both women have taken on Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko and came up short, but they would love nothing more than to have another shot at her. Andrade is a very dangerous fighter who has been to the top of the mountain and wants nothing more than to get back there. Winning two fights in a row, a third win, will help her to get back to that mountain top.

Murphy also has a ton of experience and won Championships in other organisations, but she has also come up short in the UFC. Murphy has only fought for a title once but fighting a former champion is a good test to see where you are in your career. She is a capable fighter, but winning here may not be enough.

Odds on Neds: Jessica Andrade $1.19 Lauren Murphy $4.50

Paul ‘Bearjew’ Craig vs Johnny Walker

The main card starts with a submission specialist looking to get back into the winner’s circle. Craig won fights in a row, one of those over Hill, before losing to Volkan Oezdemir. The Scotsman is a fan favourite; they love to see him at the weigh-ins with his face painted and getting into his opponent’s face. The only problem is if Craig can’t submit them early, then he will keep going back that well without adjusting his game plan. But hey, when you’re as good at submissions as Craig, you do what got you there in the first place.

Walker was on his way to being a title contender, but he has been pushed back down the ladder with some losses. A dangerous fighter with long limbs, he has the tools to move back up the rankings. His last win was a good start, but a dominant win here will make people sit up and take notice again.

Odds on Neds: Paul Craig $2.50 Johnny Walker $1.50.

Enjoy the fights.
