Day 16: Thoughts On Education

I have made it past halfway! It’s day 16, peeps, and this is a question that I didn’t expect to have to answer. Apologies that this post is also late; I had to cover an event tonight.

My thoughts on education are a bit complex. I obliviously wouldn’t be where I am without education. But I did struggle throughout my schooling days.

When I finished year 12, further education was the last thing on my mind, and it wasn’t until I found something that I was passionate about that I started to learn more and truly flourish. As I’ve mentioned before, I have always loved writing; it just took a long time to be decent at it.

I can be honest here and say that I did struggle during any stage of my education. Again it came down to what I was passionate about and what I wanted to do with my life. And I’m lucky that I am moving towards my dream career.

So my honest opinion is education is important; people need to learn some of the stuff taught in school. But there is also so much that should be taught in schools that aren’t. Also, depending on what you want to do with your life, higher education can be essential for your future, but it’s not the be-all and end-all.

Thank you again, loyal readers. I will see you tomorrow for day 17.
