If you are a fan of the MCU and comics, you will be happy to know they have officially named the cast for the new Fantastic Four movie and a release date.
Who makes up the new Fantastic Four? Here they are:
Reed Richards/Mr Fantastic: Pedro Pascal
Ioan Gruffud and Miles Teller have played Reed Richards in feature films, while John Krasinski made a cameo in Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Pascal is an excellent choice for Richards; he is now at the top of his game. Adding Pascal to the cast was an intelligent move by Marvel, especially when they were getting criticism for anything they put out.
Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman: Vanessa Kirby
The English actor has already been cast in franchises such as Mission Impossible, Fast And Furious Presents, Hobbs, and Shaw, so fans will no doubt recognise her. Kirby’s name had been rumoured for Sue Storm for some time before officially being named. It is also fitting that she shares the name of one of the creators of the Fantastic Four, Jack Kirby. Jessica Alba and Kate Mara played Sue Storm previously.
Johnny Storm/Human Torch: Joseph Quinn
Another English actor in the movie has been cast as Joseph Quinn, who will play Johnny Storm. If you are unfamiliar with Quinn’s work, he played Eddie Munson in Stranger Things and was in the Game of Thrones episode ‘Spoils of War’ where he played Koner. Quinn has also starred in plays on London’s West End. He takes the ‘Human Torch’ mantle from Chris Evens and Michael B. Jordan.
Ben Grimm/The Thing: Ebon Moss-Bachrach
If you haven’t watched FX’s The Bear, do it now. It’s a great show and stars the next Ben Grimm. Ebon Moss-Bachrach is excellent in the show and is a great choice as ‘The Thing.’ Moss-Bachrach is no stranger to the MCU; he starred in the Netflix series ‘Punisher’ series, which was announced as being a cannon in the cinematic universe. Previous actors that have played Ben Grimm were Michael Chiklas and Jamie Bell.
The movie will be released in July 2025. There will be more casting announcements as an actor to play Dr Doom has not yet been named, though Cillian Murphy is one name that has been thrown around. Still, the world will have to wait and see.
