Think back on your most memorable road trip.

I have a few road trip that I enjoyed over the years, but I going to look back on one that is memorable.
Why wasn’t it memorable? Because I wasn’t on it.
Back in 2003, I was in my first year as an apprentice butcher. It was late in the year, around November. It had been a tough year, I wasn’t enjoying where I worked due to some jerks, but there were a few good people that worked there.
One of meat packers I got along with invited me to her birthday drinks, and I thought it would be a good idea to go just to get to know the few people that I did like.
I was 19 at the time, and my friends and I were going out pretty much every weekend. That weekend, I figured we would doing what we always did, and that was drink at out favourite pub, and I could meet up with them after.
After I finished work on the day of the party (it was a Saturday, so I only worked until noon), I met my friends at the pub. After having a beer, my friend Stuart thought it would be a good idea to go for a road trip to Albury.
Everyone was keen to go, but I decided to stay back because of the party. There was another reason I didn’t want to go, I was hoping to see a girl I liked.
After the trouble I had that year with someone I had been seeing (That’s a story for another time), I was ready for a relationship that was stress free.
There was someone I had run into while shopping one day, and I thought she was cute. Then I saw out at the pub one night, and I wanted to speak to her but didn’t have the courage to. I was going to talk to her next time.
So, the boys jumedp into the car to head on their way. They tried to get me to go again, but I didn’t change my mind.
I went along to the party, and I had a really good time. Then aftertwards I went and met some other friends that hadn’t gone on the road trip at the pub, in the hopes I would met the girl of dreams. Unfortunately, I didn’t talk to her that night either.
When I met up with the boys the next day, they told me how good their night was. As soon as I heard everything, I regretted not going.
See you tomorrow for day 14 of Bloganuary.
