Strikeforce Heavyweight GP Aftermath

Hey everyone I am so sorry for not doing any predictions or any other type of blogs for a long time, the last few weeks have been absolutely hectic for me but now I am back.

Ok now on to business, the semi-finals of the Strikeforce Heavyweight GP and man there were some upsets on the card. While everyone expected Josh Barnett to beat Sergei Kharitonov and make it through to the final; the real surprise of the tournament was Daniel Cormier. Cormier, who at the start of tournament was just an alternate, defeated Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva by KO who was another favourite due to beating Fedor Emelianenko. Before the match I did think that Cormier had a chance of winning by using his world class wrestling, but I didn’t think he would KO ‘Bigfoot’ and I am looking forward to him and Barnett facing off.

The other match that surprised me was Luke Rickhold defeating Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza. I had no doubt Rockhold would one day be a Champion but I thought that ‘Jacare’ would have his measure, but Rockhold showed that he was ready now and got the unanimous decision. Here are the full results of the card.

Dominique Steele def Chris Mierzwiak by unanimous decision

Alexis davis def Amanda Nunes by TKO

Jordan Mein def Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos by TKO

Rafael ‘Feijao’ Cavelcante def Yoel Romero by KO

Mike Kyle def Marcos Rogerio De Lima by unanimous decision
